 The Trip to the Moon

The first screening of the "Trip to the Moon" was a momentous event, and a grand success; the producers truly made history that night.  It ushered the new age of motion picture and succeeded in pushing the filming industry forward.  The film was about a group of philosophers who, out of their curiosity, rode on a rocket to the moon and had great adventures there. It was fun, humorous, entertaining and entirely out of this world literally and figuratively.

Putting myself in the shoes, the seats and the minds of the viewers during that premier night, I would say that the film was absolutely amazing. Considering the fact that at that time, the "Trip to the Moon" was the first or one of the first colored movies ever shown, it would come as an exhilarating surprise to me. With its unique and different way of filming and production, the film had absolutely achieved its primary goal of entertaining me.

It was an amazing leap from the boring old movies.  It started the transition between “ancient” and “modern”.  It also exhibited the ideas of that age, and the great imagination that the people of that time possessed.  The movie exhibited how the artists of that era viewed and understood their world and their wild concepts of it.  It was a showcase of talent, it was a showcase of creativity and it was a showcase of excellence.

Each movie indicates an era in history.  This movie indicated an age where motion picture had its breakthrough.  Being a revolutionary movie, “The Trip to the Moon” changes everything.  It changed the way people viewed motion picture and hastened the development of video entertainment.  Surely, it marked the start of the golden age of motion picture wherein movies are being continually improved to reach perfection or somewhere near it if the essence of being human does not approve.
